Sheryl Dunn

Executive Consultant

Sheryl joined Business Management Associates (BMA) September 13, 2011 and, as Executive Consultant, is responsible for BMA’s Human Resources Information System and metrics development and reporting. Her previous position at BMA was that of Director, Human Resources that she held for five years. Sheryl has more than 30 years of expert experience in the federal human capital services arena and over seven years of experience in the equities markets. This experience has provided her with a thorough understanding of the Office of Personnel Management’s guidance and federal government issues. Her strengths include the ability to quickly grasp new ideas and integrate them into desired results as demonstrated by her successful transition from the human resources environment to the equities trading environment and back to consulting in the human capital arena. Ms. Dunn’s work with senior federal and corporate leaders, the public, and diverse populations have honed her interpersonal skills to a high degree of effectiveness.

Sheryl has provided advice, guidance and oversight on a variety of human capital issues and topics including position descriptions, position classification, vacancy announcements, hiring incentives, performance management activities and awards, and employee data management and reporting requirements.

Prior to her retirement from the federal government, Sheryl provided Human Capital services to several federal agencies including the U.S. Department of Navy, the General Services Administration and the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission. Her early training as a Personnel Intern with the Department of Navy, Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, afforded her the opportunity to become extremely knowledgeable in staffing and classifying Wage Grade positions.

As a consultant, Sheryl has provided senior level guidance, project management, team management, and assistance in human capital matters to federal agency clients such as the Office of Human Capital and the Office of the Chief Information Officer, Immigrations and Customs Enforcement, U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the Federal Emergency Management Agency. Sheryl’s education includes attending The Ohio State University and a B.S. degree from New Mexico State University and an M.B.A. from the University of Maryland.
